Speculation: Who brings a 1st?

Lots of chatter about where guys will go, but what will they bring? Specifically, who will bring a 1st? Not a prospect equivalent, but an actual 1st for us to use in coming drafts.

Would not be surprised if Barbashev brings us a 1st in '24 or(more likely IMO) '25.

I expect we may well get more for Barbie than for Tarasenko. Less salary, more versatile, fits with pretty much any contender so more likely to be a bidding war.

I don't think we would have ever received a Kings Ransom for either unless they were playing healthy and playing very well. If we can get a 2 firsts out of them I'll be happy. I don't really need anything else

I think we’ll be lucky to even get a 1st. Early on, we wanted 1sts + top prospect.

I think we'll move out multiple players and end up with a combination of assets including:

One 1st round pick
One A-tier prospect
Multiple B-tier prospects
Multiple later round picks

Agreed. I was only answering the op thread title question lol. He’d be the -last- person I’d trade but he’s definitely worth a 1st.

I think you misunderstood. Question was who do you think we will actually trade that will yield a 1st. Not whether any of those players are worthy, but who will we end up dealing that brings a 1st back. Buchy is obviously worth more than a 1st, but I think it is highly unlikely he is dealt.

I hope that's the case. It's going to be extremely sad to see him leave. A 1st as a parting gift is a nice cushion.

Hoping for a 1st from both Tarasenko and ROR.

I guess it’s not impossible that Barbashev could land one as I think he’s a really nice player that could help any team and maybe the right bidding war gets it there, but I doubt it.

Buch should not be traded at all and thus I didn’t vote for him, but he would absolutely return a 1st +.
