They're always a contender and it might just be their year.
As for their opponent, let's go with Florida. They haven't been to the finals in a long, long time.
As I mentioned in another thread, I'd like to see Pavelski vs. Burns in the Cup finals, since I'm a Sharks fan. Failing that, I think the Panthers are a likeable team.
Carolina/Vegas, but I'm honestly fine with any matchup. I'll be rooting for either team coming out of the East, but I won't be remotely upset if Dallas or Vegas win.
Cause the ratings would tank, I have a soft spot for Vegas, the Leafs aren't in it, Matthew Tkachuk...Brady sees the shiny cup and big ass ring and gets a little extra fire to fuel the sibling rivalry
I'd be surprised if it wasn't Cats-Vegas. And it might be the toughest SCF to predict in a long time.
Vegas will have home ice. They have bigger D and pundits would say better.
Forwards I give the edge to Panthers. Barkov is better than any forward on Vegas imo. Tkachuk is in the CS race. Vegas have Eichel and Stone. But they aren't as good as the other guys mentioned.
Goaltending isn't close.
Vegas did beat a great offensive team in Edmonton. But they won't have the luxury going up against a bad goalie. Florida would be up against the biggest and most physical team thus far. Can they overcome that and get pucks on net consistently?
