When should a player make the town he plays in his offseason home? Should he have to?

Well this hasn't turned out like I had hoped.

For a team that doesn't make the playoffs that could be almost 5 months of vacation. Doesn't the player owe some of that off time to his employer? It is a very big financial commitment to make to somebody and chances are having them closer to work could result in better training.

I guess they do make so much money they need time to spend it. lol

The franchise pays a player x amount of dollars to play in x amount of games so fans will buy tickets, merchandise and make a profit.

What that player does when hockey season is not on, is completely up to him, provided he does not return to play incapable of playing.

Unless its specified in his contract, no. Time off is time off.
