Eh, I think last year was the closest chance they had to fluking in. They missed the expanded round by two points or something to Montreal.

I don't see them fluking in with the kookoo bananas strategy they're using to hire people to run the team

I honestly think they'll make it in the next couple years. They're at rock-bottom now. A concentrated effort to get back to the postseason can build a team very quickly.

Will that be the best thing long-term for the franchise? Maybe not, if it means they rush to pick up talent and force the issue. But being top-16 isn't a very high bar to clear when a team has decent pieces in place already. A coaching change alone might be enough to do it, short term.
