Whats wrong in Tampa?

After a great start of the season the last couple of weeks has been pretty bad for the franchise from Tampa Bay, The Lightning.

Early in the season GM Martin Sedin was hopefull to reach a playoff spot. Now Sedin is very disappointed after the way the team has been playing lately.

In the last 10 games, Tampa has only manage to won 2 and have lost five in a row. Whats wrong in Tampa is a good question these days.

Obviously we dont score enough. Just over 100 goals in 43 games is not enough. Best scorer is Daniel Sedin with 14 followed by Pavel Bure with 13. Speaking of Bure Sr, his younger brother Valeri joined the team earlier this week but so far he is pointless after two games.

Legend Mario Lemieux said that he is also disappointed after half the season but also said that its half the season left and we can turn things around. Our goal is still the playoffs said the two time Stanley Cup winner.

Its not a secret that the defense and goalie problem has been the two major reasons why Tampa hasnt won lately. Face it, Ron Tugnutt aint the goalie for a playoff team.

Speaking of defense, did anyone teach Tood Harvey that? He is -18 so far and if ths continues he will end the season -36. Will anyone sign him as a free agent then?

[Tampa GM]

After the big win against Minnesota, Tampa is back as a loooosing team. 5-6 against Carolina and 2-5 against the Devils.

Tonight Tampa will face Florida Panthers in an very important game. If Tampa wins, Florida is just 5 points ahead. If they loose, Florida is 9 points ahead. If Tampa fails to win tonight many people believe that GM Sedin will do a few trades to try to change things. Its still to early to tell that Tampa will miss the playoffs.

Valeri Bure has been amazing in those five games he has played atleast. 7 points in those games and the younger Bure has already played for four teams this season. Will he be traded again and play for his 5th team?
