4. Scratching Kakko in Game 6 of ECF for no good reason. Gallant put in a plug that was an absolute non factor and the fact that Kaako has struggled with confidence in his career probably rubbed the room the wrong way.
It's not even that scratching Kakko made no sense from a hockey POV, or would not necessarily resonate well with a young player that the organization has high hopes for. It's the way it was done. Zero communication, no explanation, Kakko just saw his name not listed on the playing lineup at the morning skate and that's all he got.gallant is a guy players love but he's just really old school, and it seems like it doesn't resonate as well with this generation. he's just really hands off in how he deals with players and doesn't create much in the way of personal relationships. you show up at the rink to do your job and that's that.
