I always thought this guy was going to be the eire apparent to Marty Brodeur now I go over to the NJ prospects page and he is no where to be found. What's the deal?

He was overrated to begin with.

Brodeur is going to be Brodeur for another 4-6 years, by that time Ahonen will be about 30.

Playing for a godawful Albany team hasn't helped much either.

He is a group VI UFA this summer. I'm sure he is glad to get out of that organization.

He might go back to Europe though.

Almost every NHL organization these days has a better goalie already. He will not get a chance. Maybe in St. Louis, Tampa or Phoenix or something... I fear he will become the next Tim Thomas.

Detroit should get him and dump Osgood. He'd be a better back-up and that way maybe get a chance.

He was never overated, he had his confidence smashed year after year on horrible Albany teams. Not too many goaltenders would be able to rebound after that.
