Post your team, the needs they have, and the players/assets that are expendable or at least on the block.

My thinking with that was if we traded Dumoulin or Letang we would need a top 3 guy in return.

We're in a weird spot because our needs are quite a bit smaller than the assets JR is supposedly willing to deal.

I’d like to keep our top 4 if possible.

I believe trading Hagelin for another struggling winger(Pouliot/Cousins?) and trading Sheary/Sprong+Cole+1st for a 3C and RHD is the way to go.

That's about it for the Devils aside from liquidating veteran extras like Stafford, Hayes, Lovejoy, Prout, or potentially Moore for picks.

- Evander Kane, LW; ES volume shooting winger who can bring physical play; UFA
- Benoit Pouliot, LW; 2-way winger who can play a physical game at times; UFA
- Josh Gorges, LD; vet bottom-pairing defenseman who could be a viable #7 for a playoff team; UFA
- Justin Falk, LD; journeyman #7 on a cheap deal, might be a #7/8 target on the cheap for someone; UFA
- Jordan Nolan, F; 4th liner with Cup winning experience that might be some late round draft pick or future considerations return; UFA
- Jacob Josefson, C/LW; 4th liner, who would likely be a pure depth move for some team, similar to Nolan UFA

Possible trade nuggets:

- Robin Lehner, G; has played well for a couple of weeks after being a nightmare in net for the first few months, oddly, some teams are reportedly interested, RFA
- Chad Johnson, G; has played terrible all season, UFA
- Zemgus Girgensons, F; recently back to his rambunctious self, but does not appear to be a favorite of the current staff, signed at a cost controlled contract
- Johan Larsson, F; has draw 4th line duty after coming back from a wicked injury last year; offensive game is just not there; RFA
- Jason Pominvinlle, RW; the team is reportedly willing to retain, Poms is a veteran who could still offer some 2-way game and 2nd PP production, signed through next year


I don't see a lot of other bits that might be available for playoff building moves due either to level of play or opportunity cost.

The song remains the same, defensemen who can move themselves and the puck up the ice without launching hand grenades.
More consistent goaltending.
200-foot wingers who can play with pace and in traffic.

So basically nothing good teams give up going into the playoffs.

Ottawa needs an upgrade on Oduya to play LD with Karlsson. You might be able to get some retention from Ottawa if you take MacArthur (LTIR) because Melnyk is paying 20% of his salary.

Dumoulin would be of high interest but IDK what PIT would want/need. Is Cole still decent?
