Check again. He went at #115 to the NYI. Allegedly, he has the toolset but doesn't think the game very well. That might have been overstated. I can't see how the Islanders can lose out, really. If he fizzles, then they've only wasted a fifth rounder, but he has potential to be quite a good player.

the way people were talking about him and his skill, i thought that he opted out or something..... 115th overall is crazy after the way people were hyping where he'd go before the draft

I'm not a Leafs fan but I was expecting the same thing. Beween O'Neill and last years top pick Doherty(similar player to O'Neill) they'd at least have a chance one of them would pan out as a top three d-man.

I wonder if there was some unpublicized aspect about this kid that turned teams off him.
