Kevin Shattenkirk was the Rangers #2D until he got injured.
You can be a PP specialist and still be the #2D on your team in minutes played. The other three play a two way game, and profile as 1D's eventually, if they aren't already. I don't philosophically think a player can be a top pairing D if they can't handle the tough matchups.
If you disagree, go ahead, I didn't say you have to agree, but you were the one who disagreed with my opinion because it runs contrary to yours.
Hanifin does not profile as a #1D to me. Solid #2 same as Ghost they just bring different skillsets. Werenski is probably also a #2 guy going forward (but I have him rated higher than Ghost/Hanifin) since Seth Jones has clearly proved he's the #1 guy there moving forward. McAvoy is the only guy out of the 4 that truly projects as a #1D as he can play on both sides of the ice exceptionally well.
