Kevin Shattenkirk was the Rangers #2D until he got injured.

You can be a PP specialist and still be the #2D on your team in minutes played. The other three play a two way game, and profile as 1D's eventually, if they aren't already. I don't philosophically think a player can be a top pairing D if they can't handle the tough matchups.

If you disagree, go ahead, I didn't say you have to agree, but you were the one who disagreed with my opinion because it runs contrary to yours.

Hanifin does not profile as a #1D to me. Solid #2 same as Ghost they just bring different skillsets. Werenski is probably also a #2 guy going forward (but I have him rated higher than Ghost/Hanifin) since Seth Jones has clearly proved he's the #1 guy there moving forward. McAvoy is the only guy out of the 4 that truly projects as a #1D as he can play on both sides of the ice exceptionally well.

I gotta say, you honestly don't know what you're talking about... honestly
Watch him all the time and he is trying a lot harder in the defensive zone more this year compared to last year, but his defensive instincts aren't that great.

Again, you don't know what you're talking about. His defensive instincts are great and 1 on 1 he's also great. His stick is always in the right spot. The ONLY weakness to his game is his size along the boards. He can take some abuse in dump and chase situations but even then with his speed and agility he's usually making the outlet pass before he gets hemmed up.

I urge you to really watch him and not "watch him".

The only defenseman I might consider moving Ghost for on this poll is McAvoy... which tells me I Probably prefer him being unbias. I think this year Ghost has comfortably been the best, his defensive game is really really good and it's annoying how people who don't watch him make these insane comments
