Xhekaj could end up being a 4th line forward.

Intringuing proposal indeed, especially considering the depth of LHD pipeline and the lack of (effective) physical players with size up up front.

Hanson/Bash Brothers jokes after his LW brother was drafted this summer might hold a truth behind them!

That would make him useless IMO. He's the guy you went making forwards life hell in front of Habs goalie/Habs D zone and taking heavy shots from point. Ideally you want him paired with someone that is fast and good with puck.

This dude is a bum ,Kovacevic will easily take a spot over him
His real competition is Wideman for #7 D

Kova was actually one of only 2 players that was a + on D. He played 77 games with a +3, compared to Matheson with 48 games for a +7.

Not bad for a bottom 5 team.

Very misleading as +/- always is.

He processes the play really slowly and is over matched against better players. Matheson played tough minutes and was exponentially better than Kovacevic which illustrates how entirely meaningless the +/- stat as they are only separated by +4 lol.

He is a decent 6/7 dman who is nothing more than filler until the kids show up.

I agree that Matheson is a much better player, no doubt about that. In saying that.. Not bad for a waiver wire pick up to play essentially the whole season, avg near 20 mins a night, and end with a + rating on the team that we had last year. He did get better as the season went on tho, and was a steady player for us.

Also, Lindstrom was a whopping -16 in just 36 games last year to boot
Damn lol

Love me some Kovasevic as 3RD baby

I'd rather have him as the 7th dman, for sure. Barron and Norlinder are way better off in Laval.

I don't know how it's possible to come to that conclusion given the fact that they're all equally as horrible.

Just keep the one that provides the most offense.

Yes. He's been probably our best RD since Savard went down.

It's one of the best parts of this early season for me, and probably the biggest surprise. I believed he possibly had potential. But after the camp he had, I'm surprised to see him this good this soon.

What are everyone's thoughts on Lindstrom after 11 games?
He seems to be better than I thought he would be.
Question- he now has to clear waivers if sent down...does he clear or not?

I don't think he clears.
People laughed when McCagg said he'd play on our 2nd pairing.

On the right side, he's not out of place right now.

I don't think he clears this time. Too many teams looking for depth D. I can see Seattle, Anaheim or Calgary taking him.

He fits fine as a bottom pairing/7th D. He's a huge upgrade over Wideman. He's been better than expected for sure.

He won't clear, which is why we sent Xhekaj down (along with Xhekaj needing more development anyway).

NHL capable RD are hard to find. Toronto are using Benoit and Lagesson on their team right now.

I think he's fit in pretty well.

At this point in the season, so many teams have injuries on defense, he definitely wouldn't clear. Handful of teams that would for sure grab him.

And honestly, he shouldn't be sent down anyway.
