There have been so many occasions where he could have just thrown it away. What is he doing?

Might be harsh but this is one of the worst QB debuts I’ve seen in a while. Not helped by the total lack of an offensive line though.

Just get everyone out of here and get to next week. 34% chance to make the playoffs only goes down if someone important gets hurt.

Ruiz can't get beat like that considering who is at tackle

Can't even really blame the kid for it.

Sure he was bad, but he's a 4th round pick. Guys taken there aren't usually intended on seeing the field that fast.

He was notified thursday, the Saints are banged up to hell and he apparently couldn't even get reps in with the starters until as late as this afternoon because of the holidays.

Most QBs would struggle under circumstances like that, let alone a rookie middle round pick

He is 4th string. Winston, Hill, Semien ahead of him. Limited reps all season. But his football sense wasn’t very good as pointed out with how many sacks he took when he was out of the pocket and was eligible to throw the ball away but didn’t. This is a kid who attempted 1,141 passes in college who he has playing experience compared to say a Trey Lance.
