Cowboys should ice Zeke. Last thing you want is for him to tear a knee in loss #10 of a 4-12 season.

I’m not sure this Dallas run defense could stop a CFL team man. I mean, it’s gotta be a disheartening feeling when you know what play a team is going run, yet you still can’t stop it worth a damn.

That implies they once gave a shit about player safety.

That Elliot contract is so bad.

has he even started the contract yet?
Or is he still on his rookie deal?
It starts after this year I believe, and there is a chance to get out of it in 2023. But ultimately yes you are right. It is almost never worth it to tie up significant cap in an RB.

Dead cap of $24 mill if he is cut in the off season. And $10.8 mill if cut before the 2022 season.

so he’s on the roster for the next 2 seasons. There is a $6.7 dead cap if he is cut before the 2023 season.

If they designate it as a June cut this summer, it's a somewhat better $13.7 million cap hit for 2021 and $10.8 million 2022 cap hit. Not a lot better, but somewhat better. The biggest hindrance to this isn't as much cap limitations as it is Jerry Jones admitting the contract was a mistake so quickly. Jerry doesn't do that. It's much small cap hits if they do the cut in June 2022.

Ezekiel Elliott.

They're not the defending conference champs but they're still the most valuable sports franchise in the world.

I hate the Cowboys with the burning passion of a thousand suns but they are a draw, win or lose.
So are the 49ers, especially in Dallas.

Every single plan changed when they acquired Garoppolo. It wouldn't be a big deal if they passed on Mahomes or Watson if they actually hit on that 3rd pick. Thomas is a bust.

They'll have multiple options available this offseason.
