Ouch
Karma for betting against the devils, biyatch.
Hey remember that time Rooney and Mueller were on the PK late in the game?
It's all good. They were 4-0 to start last season and wound up getting the first overall pick in the draft. So obviously it means they're gonna win the Cup now, right?

It’s crazy to think that Hughes is used to scoring literally two points a game. This is probably some of the most adversity he has ever faced. You can see his confidence building each game, you have to think he’s about to start becoming a regular threat out there.

it's so frustrating, watching stretch passes for days. none of these passes stick and we can't get a clean zone entry. meanwhile, the forwards break out the exact same way like 70% of the time - the dman holds the puck behind our net and waits for a forward to press, and then stretches to a forwards at our blueline“It’s not far off. It’s those things. We’ve got one of the best net-front players in the league in Wayne Simmonds,” Hynes said. "We gotta get pucks there. I think there needs to be a little bit of a mentality change on the power play. I think we’ll get some guys on some one-time sides, and we’re going to make sure the decisions get better. There’s a good group of players that are on it. It’s just a mentality and the execution need to be better on it.”
Ahhh I think we'll get some guys on some one time sides, throw some **** at the wall and see if it sticks. This man is a genius, it would be nice though if they could gain the zone and actually set up before the PP is over.

As an Oilers' fan, the team didn't even deserve one point...

My view from the game was that NJ competed amd MBW mad some big saves but as others have noted for whatever reason the PK was a total let down. In real time it didn’t look like any of the goals were softies on MBW’s part with the game tying goal being something of a quick net mouth scramble with the real culprit being passive coverage that seems to allow the other team to get too close before NJ starts trying to actively defend. That passive positioning seemed true at even strength as well. That was why there was one shift where Nico’s line got gemmed in defensively and the crowd booed. It was a by product of coverage where the other team was largely allowed to play outside the faceoff dots and NJ players wouldn’t really engage until play cane inside of that area.
Nico skated well. His handling of the puck is very good but not exceptional. He was robbed on a couple of chances to my eyes. Just bad luck for now.
Hall still has instant acceleration. He just saved it until he had a chance to go to the net without contact. His shot in OT was close. If that goes in we are looking at two point nights for Nico and Hall.
Hughes looked pretty good. He skated hard when he had the puck. He’s still figuring it out defensively but he was in decent position. His passing is at times risky but he can move the puck like no one else on the team. Once the pro game clicks for him he will be a special player. He didn’t look scared and he was fine with the contact. I do think other teams get to haze him as a high profile rookie similar to what the refs allowed to happen to Nico when he broke in.
the Oilers clutched and grabbed and held all game. The refs let too much of it go. It was a noticeable drag on the game at times which I thought the league wanted to avoid but maybe only for US based teams.
MBW just doesn’t look confident yet. His body language was a bit off to my eyes all game even when the made a number of big saves in the second period. He needs some more technical work on some things but you can see the good goalie in him.
For what it was worth my son saw it as a well played game with just some bad luck for NJ. On balance he’s probably right as I see it.
I’m still disappointed none of you told me how much Beatles got played at the Rock. Oh and they need to expand the selection of hats available at the Devils Den.
Hip Hop Hooray will probably be the victory song. If they ever winOh that's right.
Speaking of songs.....
I think it's safe to say the goal song is still "Howl" and I'm more convinced than ever that this whole sham-of-a-contest for the goal song was nothing more than an Email-Harvesting operation so the Devils can spam your inbox with their "deals" and "promotions".
It seems there was never any intent to change the goal song in the first place.
If there was, "Howl" would NOT have been on the list at all.
Oh that's right.

People keep yelling about this but it worked in 17-18 - he was not used as a playmaker, he was used as a shooter, but from that side of the ice. It hasn't worked so far this season so it sounds like they're going to change it.
No he played 15 minutes and had OT time. Was Zacha benched?
No he played 15 minutes and had OT time.
Idk why but thats like the 3rd time someone asked if he was benched.
Oh that's right.

I told ya it was fixed from the start..... At least I don't have to hear hip hop hooray after every goal, it's about the only bright spot to the start of the season so far lol
If it was completely fixed they would have changed it since PK and Hall ‘weighed in’
