heck
With games 3 and 4 being announced for the 12th (Sunday) and 14th (Tuesday), there definitely wont be a viewing party for game 4 since Stars On Ice is scheduled that night at Rogers Arena. Possible for game 3 but AEW wrestling is booked the night before.

Edit: Also expect that Sunday game to be in the late afternoon to appeal to Eastern viewers

It is funny how literally no one expected this team to get this far.

In wonder if the lopsided series predictions across the hockey universe have anything to do with 'the Demko effect'. No confidence in the Canucks playing in front of a rookie goalie?

wedneday was the day i guess which was right. stupid events happning on the weekends for vancouver therefore no hockey night in canada. work on wed/fri, on gamedays hard to focus on the game might as well watch the replays when its all said and done. anyways would it be better for tocheet to roll out 2 scoring lines now, hogland/lindholm/petterson suter miller boeser. reunite the third line to play shutdown mins and get the easier matchups.

The PP's in this recently concluded series with Nashville were 22 for the Preds to just 13 for the Canucks. Canucks took more minors than any team in the Cup playoffs so far.

A repeat of that in the series with Oilers could be curtains.

About 5-6 of those calls were pure game/series management calls that had no basis in reality or the way the rest of the game had been reffed.

Every game is a bonus now.
Absolutely nobody thought Vancouver would be an easy pick for a playoff spot let alone winning the division, even Rutherford/Allvin stated "we think this can be a playoff team IF they all stay healthy" not exactly a ringing endorsement of confidence.
That they did win the division even though not playing great in the end of the easy season was great.
That they won the first round of the playoffs is a great thanks to Allvin/Rutherford totally rebuilding the defence with large humans and Tocchet's desire for even bigger guys yet, real season type guys, playoff type guys.

No one should be upset regardless of the outcome, they are playing with house money now. Which is why they might pull a rabbit out of the hat.

On the game management side, these late game decisions that can influence the outcome are ridiculous and obvious.
Just last night the game management people allowed Dallas a line change in violations of the rules which possibly influenced the outcome, in Nashville that wishy washy call on Lindholm was all out of proportion to what had been happening all game.

In just about every series late in games are calls favouring one team or the other, mostly the home team.

Do the Canucks have a chance? Sure, especially as how Tocchet has them playing like the old Devils under Lemaire but they aren't a "cult" yet.

Those espn guys thought the Van/Preds game was a snooze fest and then praised the Vegas/Dallas game as great and yet the shots on goal and chances were pretty similar.
