What is the reason for the short shifts? There's just zero ability to generate any momentum from this?

We can't break out so it gets mucked up at the neutral zone or the dump has no speed on the chaser. Then the shift is over.

Also we're doing a lot of chips ahead to the streaking forward but on the same side of the ice which is the strong side for the D. Those are getting squashed at the blueline.

Forecheck right now is slightly slow and they're focusing on the neutral zone funnel but we're not rejecting those and going back the other way. They probably just don't want to get beat clean but in the regular season we stopped those plays before possession.

Botom 6 is also dumping and changing early.
