You would be ignorant to think that one team came out smelling like roses and the other like shit on the penalties....
Am saying the refs did all they could to help oilers, even giving them 5 PPs and ignoring tgr penalties that Oilers should have had. Everyone thought it was one sided even non oilers fans.

If Interference was called going by this rule, there would be a penalty called every 10 seconds.

Players always purposely get in the way or nudge opposing players chasing after loose lucks.
His skates come up off the ice was why they called it .Whatever it was makes no difference because they were calling something once they saw that.

EP has like a 2 inch vert and people acting like he supermanned some hoes while also simultaneously saying he's softer than a Dairy Queen ice cream cake left out in the summer sun for 3 hours.

I noticed you didn’t quote the whole rule.
Distance travelled is a necessary condition.
Here's the language: 42.1 Charging - A minor or major penalty shall be imposed on a player who skates, jumps into or charges an opponent in any manner. Charging shall mean the actions of any player who, as a result of distance traveled, shall violently check an opponent in any manner.

Yup.

It's not a penalty by the rulebook nor is it a penalty based on the the way the rule has been interpreted for the history of the sport.

Just an absolute dogshit call, one of many in this series. But honestly it makes winning that much sweeter.

Don’t explain it. They don’t understand why legit penalties are called.

The fact is, most hits in the playoffs could be called a charge, or boarding, or roughing etc. if the refs really wanted to find a penalty in the rulebook that might be applicable. To give a penalty to Petey for charging there, in a playoff game, was just a bizarre call. The CBC broadcast crew of Chris Cuthbert and Craig Simpson, both of whom have been either playing professional hockey or commentating nhl games since the early 80s, were confused by it.

Things I've noticed from both sides:
1. Complaining about the refs.
2. Complaining about Craig Simpson, oiler fans says Craig is sucking up to the Canucks. Canucks fans says ex oiler talking up the oilers.
3. Complaining about the other fan base and waiting to trash each other.

Does all this hockey even matter? Guys on the ice putting on a show making millions while every idiot pays to go in to yell. I bet you the players don't even care as much as the fans do. Look at some of those players, they have played for other teams. 75% of the Canucks aren't Canadians. It is a job to them while the fans act like idiots.

Justifying how he jumped into the contact to negate the penalty is certainly mental gymnastics.
You do realize that "JUMP INTO" isn't about a player standing and then jumps to reverse hit a player skating towards him. "JUMP INTO" IS referring to the player that is skating towards opposing player then "JUMPING INTO" said player to hit that player. Have you not played hockey? This jumping reverse hit happens every game. That penalty on Pettersson isn't a charge At ALL as he was not skating towards anyone. It could have been called an ELBOW that I would believe
