Here's why I actually think the call is fine:

You can't just put your stick up to "protect you" from getting hit.

Boeser was going to get hit, braced himself and Lauzen got clipped by his stick.

If that was allowed, players could just hold their stick out in front of them anytime someone tried to hit them.

It happened a moment after Boeser moved the puck which I don't think he could've put the stick down in time due to the follow through motion
