It's not that we can't still contend in a few years. We'll be more in a position the Leafs are in. No young ELC steals but still a good team capable of winning. Just hopefully we aren't no shows like they are!
Yeah. The team could still be playoff caliber after 2026-2027, but Miller and even Demko will be getting up in age, and the big contracts in place for EP40 and Hughes will require a ton of surplus value elsewhere in the lineup to keep a true contending window open.

But hey, 2023-2024, 2024-2025, 2025-2026, 2026-2027 is a pretty solid window! 4 cracks at it.

Unlucky to not be up 2-0. Best period in ages.

Nashville did well to not take any penalties under all that pressure.
Yeah that period was absolute domination even more so than the 3rd period in game 2. Bodes well that this is their best game when a lot of teams without a lot of playoff experience would probably have a let down game

Nichuskin would've stayed in Russia if he went through Benning and Weisbrod's "development system".

And even if not, at the very least he probably needed the kick in the ass of changing teams multiple times

Good period compared to what they had been delivering—but they need to convert on this OZ pressure. I expect Nashville to come out flying in the 2nd.

Vancouver ought to get a make-up call for the Milller penalty if the game stays tied.
