This team playing low shot hockey is a year long thing, not a one game thing.

Pettersson isn't expected to hit 100 points while dragging around non-legit top6 wingers. Mikheyev isn't one, and Hoglander is shooting an unsustainable clip, and hasn't been trusted on the PP.

This build ignores winger and PMD talent to its detriment. No team is perfect, but this one was knowingly built with 1 PP capable winger in mind, and it shows.

The f*** do wingers have to do with the Powerplay? lmao.

When this team had a healthy Demko and Pettersson playing serviceably, they were very very good.

When you remove two superstar players from a team, they have been not nearly as good.

You're trying to frame not having another quality 2nd line winger as being a bigger problem that two superstars being missing ... which is ludicrous.

Pettersson scored 100 points last year with Mikheyev and Kuzmenko as his primary wingers. He was on pace for it again this year until going absolutely AWOL in the last 2-3 months of the season.

One goal against is solely on Pettersson, another goal is largely on him. Then you take into account his endless miss plays with the puck offensively as your 11.6 mill game breaking superstar...

That's not narrative, that's fact, that's accurate. Watch a guy like Pasta or other 11 mil+ players and come back and tell me our guy is on that level.

He hasn't been, but he that doesn't make him the reason this team can't score overall. He's a contributor, sure, but not the reason overall.

When the season is done, we're going to find out Pettersson is playing through some sort of injury.

That surely has to be it.....suddenly he just has no 'separation speed' at all.
