Were both goalies ripping farts constantly because of some pre-game beans? Because it was like both teams' defenders didn't want to protect their own creases or low slots at all.

That 3rd is the kind of pd that can help near-future confidence/success... when this team decides it's time to step up, they can step up

3rd they held VAN to 4 shots:
at 5:04 from 41ft., at 10:02 from 32ft., at 13:15 from 85ft., last at 19:44;
basically only 2 when you discount the 85 footer and the one with 16 sec.s left

Some good positives --
scoring 4 in 1 pd on a good goalie
getting OV in gear
PP success
only took 2 minors
the small miracle of 50+% FO tonite

Strome’s ability on F/O’s is a huge plus. Those two quick strike PP goals happen because he won them, and avoided wasting valuable seconds schlepping back down the ice, and using the stupid sling shot while struggling to enter the zone.

And in general, really good to see that someone can actually step into Backstrom’s spot as QB of their PP.
