Also the title last year was because everyone else was bad. Now Dallas actually looks legit so there's no shit show to take advantage of if this team decides to make a "late push"

I always thought it was a mistake trying to make the playoffs last year in a historically bad division.

But I thought it was worth the loss in draft slots and a 1st place schedule this year (and let's face it - the rising of hopes and expectations) if it was the start of a true team and organizational culture change. A change that has eluded us for so long.

Yeah..

If they tanked last year who in the draft would they have landed, and how would they be doing right now on WFT?

Probably one of the 5 first round rookie qbs

Maybe Mac Jones

This class is okay this year. Matt corral and Sam Howell might be the highlights.

Mac Jones looks pretty good right now against Dallas. 2nd TD already

And Jones was picked 15th OA, four picks ahead of WFT. There were 6 trades in front of pick #15. WFT could've moved up without tanking, but didn't.

Also watching games around the league, there don't seem to be any elite defenses. Even the best are getting rung up now and then. WFT's defense should have all the tools to compete but for some reason they're sucking ass.

I think we were deceived by a weak schedule and a rallying point with regards to Rivera and his cancer treatments. We're witnessing this year what we should have seen lay year. This upcoming offseason will be telling for everyone. If they spend big and draft the way they did this past offseason, the whole collective will be gone.

Neither Rivera nor the wft have had back to back successful seasons. The closest was 9 7 7 9 7 9.

Even in Carolina Rivera led a team to the playoffs and missed it the year after.

There was so much hope this off season but it seems many of the moves have backfired. In the off-season the secondary was "fixed"

Too early to give up on Rivera. The measure of a coach is whether or not he gets the expected level of play out of the talent he has. Rivera doesn't really have a world-beating offensive roster, partly by design and partly due to injury.

But the defense is stocked pretty well other than a few LB and DB positions up the middle. JDR should be on the hot seat every week.

That said, don't be surprised if we see another close finish in the division like last year. PHI has a half-decent defense and inconsistent offense. DAL has a high powered offense and a shit defense. And NYG are injury prone and likely doomed.

So if WFT can get the defense in order down the stretch like they did last year the tank might derail again.

Dallas has looked good with micah parsons and trevon Diggs. Eagles and giants look bad

Eagles defense is 11th in total yds/g.
Dallas is 25th.
WFT are 27th.
NYG are 28th.

Philly defense is 6th in passing yds/g
Dallas is dead last. WFT and NYG aren't that much better.

You can almost flip it vs the run, though. That could be score effect or just playbook but after 5 weeks it should normalize somewhat.

NYG have enough talent to compete offensively but nobody can stay on the field. PHI have young talent and may be a year away from clicking.

So it comes down to WFT and DAL having probably the most experienced roster, other than maybe TH at QB, and probably the best chance of making a run somehow.

I went for the ceremony plus hoping they'd actually do something against a terrible d. But again one of the leagues worst defenses held the wft to 13 points lol.

Holy shit Diggs.

even the security sucks

Am I the only one that finds these cutesy hand jive dance recital cheerleader-for-myself tik tok videos trite and nauseating? When Applebees or any other corporation starts wedging your cheesy trend into it's commercials, maybe it isn't so hip anymore.
