This is a voting to determine the best players of the Calgary Flames last season and their ranking versus each other. In order to participate, send me a PM with a list of the 5 players you think were the best on your team in the order you would rank them. The point system I am going to use: 5 points for every 1st place vote, 4 points for every 2nd place vote, 3 points for every 3rd place vote, 2 points for every 4th place vote and 1 point for every 5th place vote. Rankings posted in the thread will not be considered, PMs only. Please put "Calgary Flames" in the "Title" field of your message. The voting is open until Saturday, August 1st. You can still send in your ballot on that day. Don't complain if I don't count your vote when you send it in on Sunday 2nd or later.

Looking for forward to your ballots!

I like the idea of voting anonymously. Can't sway future votes that way

18 ballots from you guys so far, which makes you the #1 among the ten teams polling right now. Kudos and keep it up!

Actually, kinda interesting. The only teams that have fewer posts than the Flames board?

Calgary (409,428)
Arizona (407,221)
Dallas (377,194)
Tampa (370,468)
St.Louis (360,600)
Nashville (329,840)

Edmonton is actually #1 with 2.7 million. I'd imagine about 1 million of those are a mix of "Oh god why us" and "something something Connor".

Just based on "Compulsive need for our players / coaches / GMs to win every single comparision / poll / ranking on the main boards" I'm gonna guess Ottawa is 2nd and Toronto is 3rd?

That's really an interesting way to look at it. The ten teams that have polled before (voting finished last Saturday):

Ottawa Senators (1,975,885) - 13

You're just throwing $5 away!

.... You know InfinityIggy is voting Backlund #1!

For the record: in order to counter "outlier votes" I don't include players who only appear on one single ballot. If a voter has Backlund in his top 5 but no-one else does then Backlund will not to be ranked. Technically Skobel would have lost his "every ballot" bet, but you'll never even learn about it... :naughty:

No surprises there at all. I didn't participate but I approve of the choices.

Disappointed Brodie wasn't higher. After Gio I thoight he was our best player last year. I guess the whole "paired with Engelland" thing dragged him down hard.
