As previous people have said, we have our 1-2 center combo set for years. He's captain material, leaves it all on the ice, incredible competitive spirit. If something happens where Borgstrom somehow outplays him in a few years, then he might be available. But that's a good ways off IF it ever were to happen.

There is a alternate reality where the leafs got him+the 10th pick in 2015 draft + petrovic for phil kessel. I remember making that proposal so many times or a variation of it atleast. Back then trocehek was a 3rd line center with potential. Now he is an elite number 2 center to have on your team.

I don’t think the Panthers in their history has ever claimed to have a 1/2C combo! They actually have that now. You’d have to be able to insert as much potential back in to take Vinny out as an outside guy looking in.

I would add to Hamilton for Trocheck. Very few players that I would add to hamilton to acquire.
