Hooray the lottery has come so now I don't have to run one yay!!! But I do have to make playoff predictions... so some work will have to go into the order.

1. :sabres selects Rasmus Dahlin D Frolunda HC (SHL)

Congratulations to the Sabres on winning the Dahlin sweepstakes!

2. :canes selects Andrei Svechnikov RW Barrie Colts (OHL)

The big move up team from 11 to 2, congrats Hurricanes fans. However, you have the touch choice of picking Svechnikov and Zadina, whoever they select I think both guys are solid choices. I do think though that Svechnikov is the slightly better choice just because of his size and his shot.

3. :habs selects Filip Zadina RW Halifax Mooseheads (QMJHL)

Montreal gets the easy pick, whichever winger Carolina selects Montreal will go with the other. In this case, Montreal gets Zadina.

4. :sens selects Adam Boqvist D Brynas IF (SHL)

Senators get the future Karlsson replacement if Karlsson ends up getting traded, although they might need a winger, I just think the smartest decision for them is to take Boqvist to help their defensive core for the future.

5. :coyotes selects Brady Tkachuk LW Boston Univ. (NCAA)

It just makes too much sense. They once had Kieth, now Brady. Also, that would mean we would see a lot of Brady v.s Matthew games.

6. :wings selects Evan Bouchard D London Knights (OHL)

What can I say, Detroit needs a right-handed defense-man and Bouchard is the best one available IMO, so easy choice for me.

7. :nucks selects Quinn Hughes D Univ. of Michigan (NCAA)

Vancouver forward prospect pool is stacked, so I think it's an easy choice for the Nucks to choose Hughes.

8. :hawks selects Oliver Wahlstrom RW U.S National U18 Team (USHL)

As a Preds fan, this terrifies me. Wahlstrom looks really good, and if he goes to Chicago... oh dear.

9. :rangers selects Noah Dobson D Acadie-Bathurst Titan (QMJHL)

Rangers really any top tier defensive prospects, so taking Dobson seems like an easy choice IMO.

10. :edmonton selects Joel Farabee LW U.S National U18 Team (USHL)

I mean c'mon, I think Edmonton should only take wingers in this draft tbh and just pray one of them turns out to be a good linemate w/ McDavid. Also, Farabee looks really good.

11. :isles selects Joe Veleno C Drummondville Voltigeurs (QMJHL)

12. (CGY) :isles selects Ty Smith D Spokane Chiefs (WHL)

13. :starsselects Jesperi Kotkaniemi C Assat (Liiga)

14. (STL) :flyers selects Barrett Hayton C Ste. Sault Marie Greyhounds (OHL)

15. :panthers selects Bode Wilde D U.S National U18 Team (USHL)

16. :avs selects Vitali Kravtsov RW Traktor Chelyabinsk (KHL)

17. :devils selects Rasmus Sandin D Ste. Sault Marie Greyhounds (OHL)

18. :cbj selects Isac Lundestrom C Lulea HF (SHL)

19. :flyers selects Dominik Bokk LW Vaxjo Lakers (SHL)

20. :kings selects Jared McIsaac D Halifax Mooseheads (QMJHL)

21. :sharks selects Akil Thomas C Niagara Icedogs (OHL)

22. :ducks selects K'Andre Miller D U.S National U18 Team (USHL)

23. :wild selects Serron Noel RW Oshawa Generals (OHL)

24. :leafs selects Nils Lundkvist D Lulea HF (SHL)

25. (BOS) :rangers selects Grigori Denisenko LW Loko Yaroslavl (MHL)

26. :caps selects Jett Woo D Moose Jaw Warriors (WHL)

27. (NSH) :hawks selects Alexander Alexeyev D Red Deer Rebels (WHL)

28. (WPG) :bluesselects Jacob Olofsson C Timra IK (Allsvenskan)

29. (TBL) :rangers selects Mattias Samuelsson D U.S National U18 Team (USHL)

30. (VGK) :wings selects Alexander Khovanov C Moncton Wildcats (QMJHL)

31. (PIT) :sens selects Martin Kaut RW HC Dynamo Pardubice (Czech.)

Sorry if the descriptions seem pretty lazy, I might come back and edit them later.

If this falls your way I would take Kotkaniemi at #11 for the Isles and offer #12 to the Rangers for #25, #29 and a 2nd.

Then I take Alexeyev and Samuelson and with the three 2nds look towards Ylonen, Dellandrea, Gustafsson, McBain, etc.

Updated version! again.

1. :sabres Rasmus Dahlin D Frolunda HC (SHL)

Buffalo gets the best defensive prospect we've seen in years, a guy compared to Karlsson, Lindstrom, and pretty much any Top super Swede defenders.

2. :canes Andrei Svechnikov RW Barrie Colts (OHL)

Tough choice for Carolina here, but Svechnikov I believe is just the slightly better choice rather than Zadina. Good size, and great shot, he looks like he'll be an excellent Top 6 forward in the NHL.

3. :habs Filip Zadina RW Halifax Mooseheads (QMJHL)

Sort of an consolation prize for Montreal. Zadina is a complete two-way winger who looks very good on both sides of the ice. Although, he's not a center, Montreal truly needs all the help they can get.

4. :sens Adam Boqvist D Brynas IF (SHL)

Assuming that Karlsson is on his way out sooner or later, I believe Ottawa needs to stock up on defense-men prospect pool. Boqvist a smaller defense-man, but great skating ability, and great puck-handling. Could turn into a future Erik Karlsson maybe???

5. :coyotes Brady Tkachuk LW Boston Univ. (NCAA)

The 3rd Tkachuk on his way into the NHL, and this time on a similar team as his father was once on. Definitely would be a good story, also I just think Arizona should take the best player available IMO, and on my list Tkachuk is that. A grindy forward with good passing ability and can battle in the corners very well. Nice chippy player who has Top 6 potential.

6. :wings Evan Bouchard D London Knights (OHL)

Detroit finally gets the right-handed defense-man they needed for years. Him or Dobson would be excellent choices, but I just believe Bouchard has a little bit more upside than Dobson. Has the potential into being a very solid Top 2 defender for the Wings for many years to come. Since their defense is very weak currently.

7. :nucks Quinn Hughes D Univ. of Michigan (NCAA)

A great pickup for the Nucks to get Hughes with the 7th. The left side of the Nucks defense is looking pretty weak, but to pickup Hughes who's easily the 2nd best lefty defender in the draft. Great offensive defense who is great at creating opportunities for his team.

8. :hawks Oliver Wahlstrom RW U.S National U18 Team (USHL)

Although the Hawks could use Dobson, I just can't see them passing up on Wahlstrom if he's still available. A dangerous player whenever he's out on the ice, great at creating scoring chances and does very well on capitalizing on those chances.

9. :rangers Noah Dobson D Acadie-Bathurst Titan (QMJHL)

The Rangers are able to start their rebuild with a great two-way defender in Dobson. They stocked up on forward prospects in last year's draft with Andersson, and Chytil, now adding a defender to the new crop of prospects would be a solid decision.

10. :edmonton Joel Farabee LW U.S National U18 Team (USHL)

Adding a very skilled winger to be a possible linemate with McDavid in the future. Great two-way guy, probably just needs to add a little weight before he's ready for the pros, but as for a lot of prospects they end up gaining weight, so that shouldn't be a bad sign.

11. :isles Ty Smith D Spokane Chiefs (WHL)

12. (CGY) :isles Jesperi Kotkaniemi C Assat (Liiga)

13. :stars Joe Veleno C Drummondville Voltigeurs (QMJHL)

14. (STL) :flyers Vitali Kravtsov RW Traktor Chelyabinsk (KHL)

18. :cbj Isac Lundestrom C Lulea HF (SHL)

19. :flyers Dominik Bokk LW Vaxjo Lakers (SHL)

20. :kings K'Andre Miller D U.S National U18 Team (USHL)

21. :sharks Mattias Samuelsson D U.S National U18 Team (USHL)

22. (PIT) :sens Martin Kaut RW HC Dynamo Pardubice (Czech.)

23. :ducks Nils Lundkvist D Lulea HF (SHL)

24. :wild Grigori Denisenko LW Loko Yaroslavl (MHL)

25. :leafs Rasmus Kupari C Karpat (Liiga)

26. (BOS) :rangers Akil Thomas C Niagara Icedogs (OHL)

27. (NSH) :hawks Jared McIsaac D Halifax Mooseheads (QMJHL)

28. :caps Serron Noel RW Oshawa Generals (OHL)

29. (WPG) :bluesJett Woo D Moose Jaw Warriors (WHL)

30. (VGK) :wings Alexander Khovanov C Moncton Wildcats (QMJHL)

31. (TBL) :rangers Alexander Alexeyev D Red Deer Rebels (WHL)

I redid my rankings that I'll post in June, so alot of this is based on that future list that I'm saving.
