Standings are based on the date 12/26/17, and also I did a simulation of the lottery.

1. :sabres Rasmus Dahlin / D / Frolunda HC (SHL)

Easy choice, Dahlin is going #1 no matter what, goodbye.

2. :coyotes Adam Boqvist / D / Brynas IF J20 (Super Elit.)

Although Svechikov is a tough choice to pass on, Boqvist is exactly what Arizona needs if they don't end up with the 1st Overall Pick. A right-handed defense-man who could end up making a great pairing with Ekham-Larsson, or if he gets traded, Pierre-Olivier Joseph.

3. :wings Andrei Svechikov / RW / Barrie Colts (OHL)

The two brothers get to play side by side in Detroit, even though Detroit needs defense, they can't pass up on Svechikov.

4. :sens Filip Zadina / RW/LW / Halifax Mooseheads (QMJHL)

Ottawa for me should take the best player available to them, and for me that would be Filip Zadina.

5. :nucks Oliver Wahlstrom / RW / U.S National U18 Team (USHL)

Once again, just the best player available, and him and Boeser could look like a deadly duo on the wing.

6. :panthers Evan Bouchard / D / London Knights (OHL)

It has taken me way to long to put this guy into my Top 10, he looks like a very solid two-way defense-man and the Panthers need defenders really bad. A perfect choice for the Cats (Well any defense-man would be a good choice for them...)

7. :habs Noah Dobson / D / Acadie-Bathurst Titan (QMJHL)

Tbh I almost put Joe Veleno here, just because I think Montreal would be desperate enough to take him with a Top 10 pick, but if I was Montreal I would take Dobson. Him along with Mete and Juulsen could be a dangerous Top 3, plus Weber to make it a Top 4 I guess, like have...

Mete-Weber
Dobson- Juulsen

8. :edmonton Ty Smith / D / Spokane Chiefs (WHL)

Just best player available. I'm terrible at descriptions.

9. :pens Quinn Hughes / D / Univ. of Michigan (NCAA)

Now I highly doubt Pittsburgh misses the playoffs and ends up with a Top 10 pick, but if they do they would definitely select a defender with their pick. Between Hughes, and Woo I figured they choose the lefty.

10. :flyers Joel Farabee / LW / U.S National U18 Team (USHL)

I think if every mock draft I have made, it has been Joel Farabee to the Flyers, I think its destiny.

Descriptions are now done.
11. :avs Jett Woo / D / Moose Jaw Warriors (WHL)

12. :ducks2 Bode Wilde / D / U.S National U18 Team (USHL)

13. (CGY) :isles Ryan Merkley / D / Guelph Storm (OHL)

14. :wild Joe Veleno / C / Drummondville Voltigeurs (QMJHL)

15. :canes Ryan McLeod / C / Mississauga Steelheads (OHL)

16. :hawks Jack McBain / C / Toronto Jr. Canadians (OJHL)

17. :stars Barrett Hayton / C / Ste. Sault Marie Greyhounds (OHL)

18. :isles Brady Tkachuk / LW / Boston Univ. (NCAA)

19. :rangers Akil Thomas / C / Niagara Icedogs (OHL)

20. :leafs Isac Lundstrom / C / Lulea HF (SHL)

21. :sharks Dominik Bokk / RW / Vaxjo Lakers J20 (Super Elit.)

22. :jets Jared McIsaac / D / Halifax Mooseheads (QMJHL)

23. :cbj Jesper Kotkaniemi / LW/C / Assat (Liiga)

24. :caps Benoit-Olivier Groulx / LW / Halifax Mooseheads (QMJHL)

25. (STL) :flyers Serron Noel / RW / Oshawa Generals (OHL)

26. :bruins Rasmus Kupari / C / Karpat (Liiga)

27. :kings Mattias Samuelsson / D / U.S National U18 Team (USHL)

28. :nashville Vitali Kravtsov / RW / Traktor Chelyabinsk (KHL)

29. :devils Allan McShane / C / Oshawa Generals (OHL)

30. :vegas K'Andre Miller / D / U.S National U18 Team (USHL)

31. :bolts Grigori Denisenko LW / Loko Yaroslavl (MHL)

I put very little trust in the Habs management, but I have enough trust that they won't take Veleno with a top ten pick. I'm a huge Dobson fan but for me it'd be a tough choice between Bokk, Hughes, Woo, Merkley and Tkachuk. So many great options at #7

Hughes will likely be the 3rd d-man taken after Dahlin/Boqvist. i can't see Dobson or Smith or Wilde going before him because of his outstanding skating and offensive abilities. he sometimes is compared to Torey Krug or Kris Letang. doesn't mean he WILL be the 3rd d-man picked but even though he is rather diminutive, his skill level could be off the charts.

No to the Oilers taking Smith (another LD), either Boqvist or Thachuk, if available.
