</p>Team Switzerland didn’t turn in a particularly impressive showing in the preliminary round of the 2016 IIHF World Junior Championship, but they still managed to avoid a demotion to the D1A level by defeating Belarus, two games to none, in the best-of-three relegation round.
The Swiss took the first game by a 5-1 score on Saturday, then finished the job on Sunday with a 6-2 victory. While the scoring for the Swiss was spread across the lineup in the opening game of the relegation, the offensive star in the clinching game was forward Pius Suter (2016), who netted a hat trick to ensure that Switzerland earned another chance to run with the big dogs.… read more
