Good offense is the sales pitch but is it true? He's 7th of 8 D on our team in points/60 5v5. Only bortuzzo is lower. Which means scandella and Tucker are better. Our PP is atrocious in part because of his overpassing. Where is this offense to justify the bad defense? Hopefully that comes in his two more years of leash people want to give him as well as learning how to play defense before he hits 27 and we are finally allowed to give up on him.
if he isn't better than average nhl offense from his position then he is friggin' useless, because he isn't likely to ever be even average defensively. i'm prepared to give him a bit more rope because it's not like we have better options at the moment, but my expectations for peru at this point are minimal and if it were up to me, i'm only playing him until we actually get viable option to fill his spot. which i would be actively seeking.

Better than average? Not even close. He is bottom 15%. He is 196th of 223 D with over 100 min toi in 5v5 pts/60.
daaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaang but I'm still going to delay banishment proceedings until after this season. As '76 noted, he's performed in less than 35 NHL games.

I'd love the kid to be successful, but.....he is not Reijo Ruotsalainen or former Blues pick Risto Siltanen. I don't see a 40+ point offensive specialist, which he basically will need to be to justify being that much of a liability defensively. I hope he proves us all wrong, but I don't think he can be that dynamic or be that kind of shooter.

Dude, just watch the reply. Player hits the stick, stick drops. It's pretty cut and dry about why the stick was dropped. The only thing that can be up for judgment would be if it interfered with his ability to play his position.

Also watched replay again. To me Binner initiates the contact by attempting a poke check. I could be wrong but looks like he was trying to poke check the puck and when Karlsson hit his stick outside of the crease, who is to blame? He is outside the crease while Binner is attempting a poke check (that is what it looks like to me), which would be a gray area to me and why I would haven't challenged it.

Kyrou had another lazy effort game? I am shocked!

He should have been traded for Tkachuk. Sadly, his contract along with a few others will not age well.
I think DA tried so I don’t blame him for it, but yeah that would have been nice. Could have really changed our team.

The Panthers are one of my favorite teams in the league to watch these days.

plus think of how much harder he would play for the hometown club. this team currently lacks a identity but if they had tkachuk we would not have that problem.
