if he isn't better than average nhl offense from his position then he is friggin' useless, because he isn't likely to ever be even average defensively. i'm prepared to give him a bit more rope because it's not like we have better options at the moment, but my expectations for peru at this point are minimal and if it were up to me, i'm only playing him until we actually get viable option to fill his spot. which i would be actively seeking.Good offense is the sales pitch but is it true? He's 7th of 8 D on our team in points/60 5v5. Only bortuzzo is lower. Which means scandella and Tucker are better. Our PP is atrocious in part because of his overpassing. Where is this offense to justify the bad defense? Hopefully that comes in his two more years of leash people want to give him as well as learning how to play defense before he hits 27 and we are finally allowed to give up on him.
