Terrible season this year from Teddy, but if he returns to his previous form Vegas has a solid bottom six depth guy, assuming they keep him past this year. Good move for everyone I think.

The Blueger of the past few years? I will miss that guy on the Pens.

Pittsburgh still clearing room? With McGinn, Friedman, Kapanen and now Blueger, that's like 7M+ cleared.

Wish it was a 4th but I hope there is more from Vegas. One big thing could come out of this is we may soon see a healthy scratch of Phil Kessel.

Ya a 3rd is crazy more than expected. Most fans thought a 5th for him was fair.

I still can't believe that someone paid a 3rd for Blueger with how bad of a season he's having. People on here were talking about Blueger as a valueless cap dump, including me. To get actual value for him along with clearing $2 million in cap space is excellent.

I kinda liked Blueger when he first arrived on the scene. Has he gotten demonstrably worse or just kinda stale in his role in Pittsburgh?
I think there was hopes he could turn into a 3C but he just turned into a 4C with PK duties. For 2 a year on a team against the cap it didn’t make sense anymore.

This is a good trade for both teams. Pens get cap space and Vegas get a solid 4th line center. Freddy will play better with the change of scenery and still with a team playing meaningful games.
Except Vegas already has a better 4C in Roy. Like the only thing I can think is Roy's current injury is serious.

Vegas had no 4th the compromise was probably the draft year. DiLiberatore was thrown in so Vegas stays under the contract limit.
