Versus will air a doubleheader January 1st, with the 1st game (NY Islanders vs. Buffalo) airing at 4PM and the 2nd (Boston-Toronto) at 7PM.

It should be noted that, with this, the March 27th LA-SJ game will be dropped and returned to the local stations. On 3/27, Versus will only be airing Devils-Islanders.

Can't say no to more hockey coverage but there's only one thing I'll be watching on January 1: College football.

I am guessing VS feels that the Jersey-Islanders game will have bigger playoff implications, that being said they should wait till Feb to make a decision like that. I am not sure what VS schedule is but i don't think they had any Islander games as well so maybe this a way to get a couple in since they performing better then expected.
