As I've been reassured we're doing these by value, and not ceiling, it's Virtanen. Goalies always have depreciated value.

Virtanen isn't a prospect. He had a full NHL season.

He only played 55 NHL games in that full season, which means he remains a prospect by HF's definition. Plus he may be playing in the AHL next season.

I have no issues with considering Virtanen a prospect at this point. If he makes the Canucks next season that will change.

Forgot to vote, Demko mostly because he is basically the goalie of the future... and given our lack of scoring prospects... that goalie better have a GAA under 1.50 if we want to win games....

Lol at anyone picking Virtanen over Demko

Demko has the higher upside, but Virtanen has already shown he can be effective in the pros -- something that is usually a big hurdle for goalies. If Demko has a strong rookie season in the AHL, I'll start getting excited about him.

Not to mention, if we're looking at this from a value standpoint goalies have to be better than backup material to have any value in this league. Regardless of how Virtanen pans out, he's likely to be the more valuable asset as bottom six guys are coveted more than backups (assuming this is the floor for each player).
