And people still think Bettman is worse than God-dell!! I mean seriously are people in the NFL offices that tone-deaf or just so arrogant that they DGAF? How hard would it have been to assign them to a meaningless game like Jets/Pats or any game where there are zero to little playoff implications? So not only do they get a game that is vital to a plethora of AFC playoff contenders, but yet another stand-alone nationally televised game. Truly mind-boggling.

Goodell looks like a pompous dick, but at least he doesn't look like a total embarrassment.

I have no idea about their job performance, but Bettman could not look more like some out-of-touch suit that rarely ventures out of his gated community.

I think PR matters far more to the NHL, in that they can't afford to have a giant scandal bringing the league's legitimacy into question. Tim Peel made the league look bad and got shitcanned for it.

Meanwhile, the NFL is so in-bed with the media that they practically control the narrative when they want to. Hell, I can imagine some bean-counter somewhere happy about the extra drama and how much extra viewership it will draw.

In regards to the refs, I can't imagine what would be the straw that breaks the camel's back, if anything could at this point.

They must have a killer union contract to just be shit and the league does nothing about it.
