What about UQTR? Isn't there a reasonably sized new Junior rink in Trois-Rivieres?

Being built ... but not ready (yet).

Unless UQTR owns it OR it's sitting empty, however, it's not financially viable to have to rent out a facility to host the University Cup.

Indeed. But they are using the U of M for at least two years. Could be a side deal to reciprocate favours down the road a bit.

They can't even sell out ICE games right now. You've got the Moose and ICE competing for the same audience, and neither of them are drawing strong crowds. I think that the RINK owners are bleeding money with the ICE and Blues organizations.
