Not a great day for the German goalie it looks like.

You can change that to goalies.
They pulled their starter Weitzmann after giving up 5 goals on 12 shots. Reich did a little bit better, but still gave up 4 goals on 17 shots.

frankly speaking usa's looking a lot better, the team of grenadiers

Powerplay's made them look such, but 5 on 5 both teams are skating well, but US does have the edge as you say. Russia's D are making horrible reads at the bluelines that are giving the States plenty of odd man rushes, but Russia in transition like usual should give them many opportunities as the game progresses. But nonethless great game and great atmosphere, can't even fathom to think how incredible the games and atmosphere will be on this Ice in 10 months!

Turned on a stream long enough to see Buchnevich's PP goal.

Anyone care to describe his game, or compare him to an NHLer.

GOAL! RUS 3 - USA 2 .. Ivanov, in alone, wrists one from low slot, beating Demko high stick; primary assist to Buchnevich .. USA almost responded quickly though, as Fasching put one off Shestyorkin and the crossbar .. 11:21 remain.
