Im in Pittsburgh right now and I’m was wondering where might be the ideal place to get penguins merch? PensGear is closed tomorrow and I’m leaving tomorrow.

Any ideas?
There's a place called Rally House that came up when I googled it. Could try calling them in the morning

Weird ass hours and only open weekdays but if you need a Greek spot for lunch, Madonna’s downtown is absolutely amazing. Possibly my favorite spot to hit up for lunch on lunch break.

Coming to Pittsburgh for the first time for a game in January and was gonna get an Air Bnb in North Shore and walk to the the game and back.

Any issues walking through that area of town at night?

In my experiences walking around Pittsburgh especially after sporting events there is a sea of black and gold walking the same direction you’re going. Other than a few homeless people who might just ask for some cash just be vigilant and aware and you’ll be fine.

I haven't had any issues and I've walked from the casino hotel to the arena and back.
But that's the great thing about downtown/north shore. If you see questionable characters lurking up yonder, there's multiple routes going the same way.

That's kind of a long walk. I suggest walking to a subway station on the North Side and getting off at Steel Plaza. It's free for that distance/locations.

Hi, My daughter and I are flying down to see the Bruins game Saturday. I have never been to Pittsburgh. We will be there until 4/16. We will want to watch the Caps game vs the Bruins Monday. Are there lots of places to watch NHL games? We are staying at the William Penn Hotel.

Thanks much !

Ask the staff at the William Penn Hotel. You can try the web site Yelp to find sports bars in Pittsburgh. There are a ton of bars on the southside of downtown. It all depends on how far you want to go from were you are staying.

Ask the staff when you check in. Pittsburghers are very friendly people.
I have had ST in Boston (next to the Bs bench) for over 20 years. The visiting Pens fans are always cool.

It will be nice to see the arena. My daughter and I are well behaved, so I don't think we will have any issues.

If you are there just to enjoy the game you will have no issues. Now if you were a Ravens fan going to a Steelers game running your mouth that's a different story.

We try to go to one away game a year. Sometimes fans tease us about being Bruin fans but it is usually in fun. Years ago one woman at a Flyers game gave us unfriendly crap...we just ignored her.

I only do hockey!

Great choice staying at Cambria Suites. Right next to the CEC. Place is usually jumping before and after a game (especially a win).

Inclines/Mt. Washington
Carnegie Mellon University (it's computer geek heaven and the building designs are unique)
Carnegie Museum of Natural History
Andy Warhol Museum
Roberto Clemente Museum
Phipps Conservatory
Cathedral of Learning
Parks: Schenley, Point State, Frick Park
Rivers Casino (if you like that kind of thing and you don't mind smoke).
Clubs: Stage AE down by Heinz field. Lots of restaurants in that area as well. Not sure about other night life hot spots though.
Food: Primanti's, Church Brew Works (old church converted into a restaurant)
Skiing: Not sure if any of these will be open - Boyce park, Seven Springs is my favorite but it's not close.
Lots of old theaters as well.

Enjoy!

We rented a car and were able to park right at Cambria which was a real bonus.
