Dorion will either emerge as a genius or quite possibly the worst GM in the history of the NHL.

No pressure.

He went from 45 to 25 last week and now in the top 10. What an utter disaster this franchise has become.

I wonder if the local media still think that its far too early to discuss this.

To be fair, the "Trade Board" has no value and is purely speculative.

Anyone who needed TSN to tell them that Stone and Duchene were likely to be traded before the TDL hasn't been paying close attention or can't admit the obvious path this has been taking since last July.

If Duchene comes with a contract what about something like:

Duchene Ceci Boedker for Patrick Myers/Ghost Voracek

Agree totally with you on this, the board is what it is, but it does show you that the belief of the majority of the hockey world is shifting and that he will be traded. The fact he was completely at the bottom just about a week ago, led me to believe that the insiders truly believed that he would resign.

February 1st today, officially the biggest month in franchise history?
Could be.

I'm still of the opinion that Lebreton will be built and will have an NHL team, with or without Melnyk. Even if things go completely sideways, the market is sound and the NHL wants a franchise at Lebreton.

I still cant believe Dorion, the worst GM of all time, is in charge of these major trades.

Guy is an absolute clown

A great candidate for an offer sheet. There's no way we would match.

This is a legitimately frightening thought. Some big market team out there could try and flex their financial muscles and sign Chabot to a heavily bonus laden contract (not unlike what Philly tried to do with Nashville with the Weber offer) and hope that Melnyk balks at it.

I could totally see Montreal doing it too in all honesty (big market, lots of money, tons of free cap, need for a premier LHD, Young French superstar to build around).

nope that was when you lost your franchise player and generational defensemen

Duchene and Stone probably stay if we had Karlsson

Great way to grow a young fanbase.

It's a good thing that moving Karlsson eliminated distractions and created a team-first culture that everyone would buy into.

And yes, if Marner is a prime candidate for an offer sheet, Chabot will be as well.

A team could offer between $8.1 - $10.1 million, with a bonus-laden structure, and only have to give up a 1st, 2nd and 3rd round pick. For a 23 year old who's already one of the best defensemen in the league.

Why wouldn't they? And there's no way we can financially match.

They knew they couldn't commit to Stone in the summer . They could have moved him for a haul as an RFA, but instead now he's a rental in a buyer's market.

f***ing morons.
