I'm quite baffled by the Zacha interest. Pretty likely that we get a center with our top pick, we got Dvorak, Poehling is showing some stuff, Evans is a good 4C and we most likely have another top 10 pick next year that can be used on a center. Habs should be looking at PMD. Bottom 6 centers are kinda useless for us right now.

Zacha hasn’t been a full time c for a while, he’s been at LW with the odd spot duty at C

So we want to keep Lehkonen despite the abundance of bottom 6 wingers and we get another bottom 6 winger?

You only go get Zacha if you think he can figure out how to be a top 6 forward, whether on the wing or st C. He scored 17 goals in 50 games last year, a 28 goals in 82 games pace. But Benoit Pouliot once scored 15 goals in 29 games for us, a pace 9f over 30 goals in 82 games. So, that past performance alone doesn't mean squat.

Can Zacha be a perennial 25 goal, 25 assist guy? Or is he another Benoit Pouliot is what you'd be trading to find out. Devils fans seem to think he's Pouliot. A 6'3 guy with talent, but soft on the boards and disappears for long stretches...

Zacha is not a 50 points player.
he's no top 6. Another bottom 6 player who plays on a dead season whos having career high like Lekhonen.
get actual dmen instead thats what we need.

Kicking tires doesn’t necessarily mean they are targeting him. Zacha has been available for quite a while now.
His even keel level is what we consider Lehkonen has been playing lights out hockey. So there is upside with the player as well as being much bigger. Although he has been playing with some very good centres in New Jersey
That being said I don’t believe you can look at it as a one for one replacement for Lehkonen, it would probably be a replacement for Drouin on the second line LW

He’s right.

After Chiarot is moved, and potentially Petry they will need a PMD and another D. No need for Zacha.

If Zacha is not a top 6, we don't need him. If he is we do. The opinion is whether he is a top 6 forward or not, bot whether we need top six forwards. We do.

He has yet to score 50 pts in the NHL so its not opinion its fact.

Anyways Zacha makes no sense at all unless Dvorak is getting moved also.....

He's 24 and has scored at a 40 points or more pace the last 3 years, so when he was 22, 23, and this year as a 24 year old. Last year he scired at a pace of 28 goals over 82 games.

There is a need for top 6 forwards if you believe he can become one. The wild didn't think 24 year old Pitlick was worth not protecting. It depends on the player and the situation...

We need PMD's................this is what the top teams have, which in turn helps them play an offensive game.
For years now, we have the bang it off the glass bunch of Dmen............please guys, think PMD's if not now, then in the summer.
PPQB position that Markov left vacant, has yet to be filled for gods sake.........

Yeah, I like Marco but until his new site breaks something its all just informed guessing.
I used to like Marco better as someone providing practical insight in Tweets. Now, we’re seeing his site referring to him as a Habs “beat reporter”, which he’s clearly not. Too many of his pieces are long and drawn out with filler and some of his stuff needs fact-checking as he’s making rookie mistakes.

We interested in Zacha? Don't know him but stats says big but limited hands. Could he be another Josh Anderson? If he has good speed maybe
