Then technically you wanna start the season with the roster we have?

Not sure if it will work
Trade Allen then I would trade for PLD go after an RD and goalie prospect and use our cap to get some assets ( like Monahan ) i dont think we should force any bigger moves unless its for younger players the atlantic will be even better next year imo

Dubois - Suzuki - Caufield
Slafkovsky - Dach - Farrell
Hoffman - Dvorak - Gurianov
RHP - Evans - Gallagher
Ylonen

Guhle - Savard
Matheson - Barron
Xhekaj - Harris
Kovacevic

Monty
Primeau

Traded :

Anderson
Allen

Its not pretty yet but should give us another top 15 pick

I hope tomorrrow we wont see a bunch of people cursing at HuGo for not doing much because we have nothing good to offer

Expect bigger moves this summer
Domi just got traded for a 2nd. Thats just BS lowering of standards.

Theres no reasons to not deal at least one or more of :
Christian Dvorak
Joel Edmundson
Josh Anderson
Jonathan Drouin
David Savard
Jake Allen
Denis Gurianov
Sam Montambeault
Mike Hoffman
Mike Matheson
Joel Armia
Jonathan Kovacevic
Rem Pitlick
Chris Wideman

None, absolutely zero, of these players aside from Sam is a part of the future of this team. Moving one, two, three or four of these guys would go a long way in priming the window for the future but well sit on our f***ing hands like weve done the past ten, scratch that 40 years.

What's hilarious is that in 2 years
Dvorak , Edmundson , Anderson , Drouin , Savard , Allen , Gurianov , Hoffman , Armia , Kovacevic ,Pitlick , Matheson and Wideman will all be 100% gone

Leaving Montombeau alone in the pack. I don'T see any top 4-dman or top 6 player in that list or #1 goalie.

Josh Anderson easily is, but keep you're hating.

Gurianov is pretty much worthless. Same with Wideman. Likely ditto for Kovacevic.

Hoffman, Drouin and Armia are worthless Same with Pitlick.

Monty wouldn't be worth much. Allen has term, if he didn't he likely would be moved.

I get people want moves, but you gotta think about it. A lot of those players aren't worth much and you can't game in, game out call them shit and expect people to he lining up for them..

It’s as if the end of the world is coming and GMs are throwing picks like they don’t care.
FWIW - McGuire said the other day on Melnick’s show based on discussions he’s had w management & scouting types and what he had seen of the prospects heading into this season while working for Sens, this draft is nothing special with the exception of Bedard and definitely not deep

And so aren't the 2024 and 2025 drafts apparently, because they are sending their picks like I throw garbage in my bin.

Which goes against all that pundits have been saying over the last 12 months, no? What happened? Players regressed?

Who is paying anything more than a 4-5th for almost everybody on that list? At which point, we're getting darts to throw while being forced to play kids who may not yet be ready for the NHL. Better to let warm body veterans eat those minutes.

The only players with any decent enough value are Savard and Allen. The former isn't exactly a "sexy" pick and we kind of need some level of goaltending. Edmundson would probably have value if he hadn't been injured most of the season while Anderson's contract really hurts any potential trade. Not to mention it sounds like they want to keep him.

No, most have said for ages that the first 4-6 are great, rest of draft is meh. I’ve heard that take for a while - but people are just excited about Bedard.

Domi is on an expiring contract $3M AAV.

As for Habs in bold, all on multi year deals, and with a few exceptions (Anderson, perhaps Savard, and Matheson) won’t get much of a return, that’s if there’s interest

As Button, McGuire and others have stated, HuGo don’t HAVE to deal them this deadline is the return is not acceptable.

We’ll have to wait & see what happens tomorrow.
