I figured we should just have one thread to encompass all the trade talk that is likely to come in the next month or so.

I have compiled a list of all the possible free agent forwards we may be interested in. I took out the UFAs that play for contenders, or that cost more than 6mil in cap space. I doubt we go for any Dmen, but we can discuss that topic as well.

Here is what I have: (ranked by Pts/GP)

Considering Oshie is completely unavailable, no one on that list interests me. Maybe PAP.

Keep in mind every cap dollar is important for next year.

Ugh, take Versteeg off that list. I don't even want to entertain the thought of him coming back yet again.

I wouldn't mind if Stan targets a depth defenseman in addition to a top 9 forward. If one of the top 6 guys goes down then they either have to hope Forsling is ready to go or rely on one of the defenseman that **** the bed last year.

That list has a lot of good players that could help the Hawks...

None of them interest you? are you suggesting we roll into the playoffs with what we have?

We use the TDL cap space we have and get a few of those cheap guys.. We can afford 3-4 of those guys - why not?

why even bother, according to mark lazuras (misspelled) twitter, the hawks are not going to do anything until Maxim Shalunov signs in Feb.

btw, that is a great list.

I agree...

I would love to have Oduya back playing next to Hammer.

Get Vrbata,Bourque or Eaves, White & Oduya @ 50% ea.

That's what the Hawks need.... Depth.

It would be a mistake to wait.... At least go out and get a Vrbata, Bourque or PAP now.

It would make more sense to get one of those guys now to give them a test run - if they don't pan out you move them again at the TDL for something else.

pls do not get me wrong, i have been ranting this for 1 + seasons on getting that 1st line fix and fixing the cap.

logic, at this stage of the hawks way of doing things are not in sync with SC - priorities.

I would love Patrick Eaves...he would be a great fit on Blackhawks...players who are totally expendable right now are Kruger, TooToo, Desi, and Rozsival

I don't get Bowmans logic, some of these guys could be had for a cap hit of 600k at the price of a 4th round pick and Bowman is sitting on his hands.

The only thing I can think of is a) Bowman is looking into bigger deals or b) Bowman or Q is content with what we have right now and will address problems closer to the TDL.

i do not know is i am in the right side of this. i am in a discussion on another post of what i read on a twitter and damn, i really hope i didn't screw the pooch on my interpretation of it.

but i agree, the one key part i would like to address is the 4th round and probably in this yr draft.

I have a feeling Desi and Rozi will be waived.

We waive both of those guys and that's another 1.4 in deadline cap space. Waive Tootoo along with them that's 2.150....

Tootoo plays more of a locker room role, and it's nice to see him stick up for younger guys and that is something every team needs... His cap hit is nothing 750K.

Kruger is a big help if we are talking about winning this year.

I understand his money might not fit after this season.

i will be honest, i am still lost at this cap maneuvering and all. but how i read it, it is the players that is dress that counts against the cap, or am i wrong??

I get people not liking Kruger's contract, but we are without a doubt in better shape to win a Cup this year with him on the roster than we are without him. It's really not even debatable.

i will not debate on the merits of kruger skill and his helping, but more of the lack of not being able to do anything else, to fix this team.

Players that are on the active roster count against the cap...

We can waive them and send them to the AHL, none make 975k or more so we will get their full cap value if they are waived to the AHL...

They may get claimed they may not - not that it matters considering all are pending UFA's anyways.... Of course if we need them during the playoffs we can always recall them, which is nice.

It just opens up more cap space to bring in players that are more useful than they are.

I respectfully disagree and happily will debate you...Kero in way less games has shown more offensive spark and plays on the PK just as Kruger..in fact Kero offensively outproduces Kruger. The PK has not taken a step back since its historically pathetic anyways with Kruger down and Kero taking over...Kruger does hold a large FO % over Kero at 50% compared to 41%
