Been more focused on the Euro UFA pool myself, but as far as NCAA UFAs

May be near the top of the list, IMO.
Big boy. He is listed as a center but Colorados top scorer Laba is also listed at C. I think he is a winger now. I wonder if his relationship with Laba will channel him to the Rangers. Big year coming off an ACL tear.

I’m hoping the team’s in on the cream of the crop.
Geography will be a factor, but you’d have to think that getting chances to play with legit stars in their prime in a hockey media hotbed has to be appealing. See Bunting, Hyman, Boosh, Mikheyev who all cashed in pretty well in this environment.
I’d love a plug and play guy like Grom or Tsyplakov to complement the competition in the forward group. Leaves more money for other priorities.
Good eyes @Rare Jewel
Keep ‘em coming.

It could, he's a Jersey kid though.

However, it doesn't stop the Massachusetts kids from going to the Rangers. They may be the front runner for Graf at the moment.

With Vegas committed to Aidin Hill financially for the 2025 season and the fact that he has a Modified NTC, I wonder what the price would be to to try to pry Logan Thompson from them. They have Jiri Patera in their system whom they are resonably high on as a backup.

Thompson is 27, has 1 more year at $766,667 and has shown a lot of promise as a future starter. I'd be highly interested in running a Longan Thompson / Joseph Woll combo next year on the cheap.

Vegas would likely be interested in some of Toronto's cheaper forwards given that they're going to lose a couple key scoring pieces in free agency.

There’s no good reason for them to move on from Thompson at that price. The realistic target out of Vegas is Nic Roy.

He won't be that price a year from now. The idea would to be to trade them an NHL ready assett + for Thompson, while they still have control.

I'm not suggesting that he would be cheap to acquire, but I doubt Vegas is going to be able to re-sign him to a time share situation a year from now. If offered some quality assets under control, they might listen.

When it comes to Vegas it’s safe to assume they’ll make the requisite moves to sign anyone they want. They stand to benefit the most from his cheap contract next year which makes me believe it would take a lot more than the Leafs should be willing to stomach to pry him out of there.

The thing is, they have the big 4 plus Robby and Knies and McMann who are dirt cheap, Holmberg and Gregor who are cheaper yet, and Bert and Domi who have a higher upside. Kampf they might be married to and Reaves they definitely are. It isnt like he isnt any good, just that money is tight and a low minute forward is replaceable.
I won’t lose any sleep if Gregor isn’t brought back.

Don’t see a world where he makes less than 5 million per, even on a long term deal. I’d go 5x5 with him.

After the 4 year mark, I become less interested.

The 5th or more years would need to bring down the aav from the 5's because he's going to be 34-35-36 range.

My guess is Bertuzzi gets too expensive. Max Domi stays with a slight hometown discount.

I also see Treliving targeting Trenin in FA as a cheaper option than Bertuzzi

It's a good suggestion, but I feel someone who's established or has experience would fit better with Woll, TBH.

Could just keep Jones another year.

I like it, myself. Good job, develop guys, get surplus value where you can.…
With a couple preferences swapped out.

I still like Dewar, so he’s my 4C. Pontus is an ex-factor for me….he’s on a line with Willy either as a C or W. And ideally 91 and 88 are on different lines.
I’m not sold on Max. I’d rather spend a few more bucks of the reserve for someone with better defensive chops. Lindholm is my optimal target.
Lastly, for the regulars, I’d want Cowan ro earn it so I’d target a cheap placeholder. Lots of options.
As for the extras, there’s Steeves and Timmins. With Rifai first man up when Edmondson goes down :)
