We have a group of decent goalie prospects and I'd lump him in there, no one really stands out.

If he puts up the same sort of numbers this year with a larger sample size, easily yes.

Nobody really knows who the top goalie prospect is. The answer probably would have been Petruzelli but management seems pretty high on Hildeby to not only draft him in round 4 when he was eligible in 2019 but to sign him less than a week after drafting him. He's not signed to an NHL deal like Petruzelli but Dryden Mckay is also interesting.

We don't really have a top level goalie prospect so if he performs at a high level this year as a starter in the SHL he would quickly become our top goalie prospect.

Cool, sounds like the upcoming year will be an interesting one to follow your goalie prospects to see if one of them can separate themselves from the pack. Appreciate the info guys!

Fantastic, means that Färjestad got another 2 M SEK to the budget that they did not expect.
Dennis is a really promising goalie but has played like 8 SEL games since he was brought up as a backup from our J-20 team, no play-off games and is atleast 2 senior seasons away from even thinking of going over.

IF he should head over the pond, he will go back to SEL unless he gets in on the NHL roster, IE, no AHL for Hildeby.

Don't forget that the Leafs acquired Carter Hutton a few months ago. He's in contention to be Murray's backup.

He's 100% gonna be the backup. Färjestad just brought in a new starter for this season.

Yes and both GM and HC wants to have a clear #1 goalie instead of a "tandem" which has been the case for a number of years now where the #1 will get the vast majority of the starts. Look for Hildeby to get perhaps 10% starts at the most if there are no injuries.

That depends on which Tomkins we are gonna see. If it’s the Tomkins before new year Hildeby won’t see much gametime but if it’s the Tomkins after new year Hildeby has every chance in the world to make the spot his.

You mean Tomkins before he was told that he would be replaced in Frölunda even though he played great and then after ;)
Look, I'm not saying that Hildeby don't have a chance, quite the opposite actually, It's quite usual in Färjestad that a goalie does a better year his second season and especially when he gets a good D infront of him. I hope he proves me wrong but going into the season I would say that Tomkins looks like he will start 8-9 out of 10 games.

Talk about the signing and do not turn this into a Leafs roast. Feel free to ignore the thread if you only want to troll fans of other teams.

Haven't followed the AHL all that closely but this guy stopped 36 of 37 shots for the Marlies last night and has won 20 games in 38 appearances in his first season in North America.

He turns 23 this summer. Is there something to his game?

He went through a bit of a mid/late season lul but seems to have found his game. Definitely think he has a future in the NHL. Whether that is as a starter or a backup I am not sure, but he has the tools to play.
