Have to think that between Tampa and Colorado, Jones is gone. The Leafs just aren't in a position to play chicken with their roster to protect all three the way Montreal might be doing with Primeau right now.

Montreal have plenty of waivable guys who won't be claimed, as well as a bunch of exempt guys to shuttle around until TBL/COL goaltending issues are stopgapped. Toronto can't really mess around with that, or carrying 3 goalies.

This is the problem with bringing in a guy like Jones to be your "3rd goalie". You're almost better off just finding a lesser, more "tweener" guy to be your organization depth 3rd Goalie. Not super confident in what the Leafs have now. Have to hope Samsonov and Woll are durable.

Yes, most teams need their goalies to be durable

Distinction being, a lot of teams aren't also leaning on a tandem of which, neither has really ever played more than 30-40 Pro games in a season. Without a real clear 3rd goalie "safety net" if Jones ends up lost on waivers.

Benoit played a little under 20 mins per game for the Ducks last year, and now likely won't stick in the league even as a #7. Says a lot about the Ducks blueline last season.

"Poor" is a kind of quality.
Yeah, don't get how people are still convinced other teams are lining up for him. After the last 3 seasons i'd rather just take a shot at a kid in the minors or someone from Europe (like Johansson/Tomkins). Sounds like they'll need Jones in TOR now, anyhow.
