Toronto passes hard.
The "big" needs are a middle 6 winger with grit and maybe a depth goalie.

Definitely not giving up a 1st for two pieces we don't need.

the 1st question that comes to mind is on what world is a 4C/3W and a 4/5 LDman worth a 2nd and a 1st?

2 2nd's and Marty Marincin maybe,

2nd, 3rd Denis Malgin + Mike Koster + future consids

That's Soderberg though, last year he was playing wing and he's a big bodied battler at the net and boards.

The 1st makes this to much, both guys would be solid additions but neither should bring back a 1st

Lmao. Goodluck getting Ekholm for that.
The blueprint that keeps getting batted around for Ekholm is the Muzzin trade as the last similar calibre Dman traded, a 1st + two B+ prospects kind of thing. The market always determines the premium but it looks like a buyer's market this year

I don’t think Nashville is as willing to trade Ekholm as LA was with Muzzin. And Ekholm is a better player anyways.

Very similar players, and you may be right about Nashville holding onto him, things look different for them now than they did a couple of weeks ago

Is this a deal that works for both sides ? Also can Toronto take on 2.7 million pro rated ?
why on earth would the leafs do that, those two would not be starters on the leafs lineup.......
