It's true that need to keep an eye on the other players passed over before deciding if the trade was great, but Minten looking good, definately makes the trade seem good. I was a bit down on it at the time.

If a few of the 13 develop well beyond what Minten develops into, it still doesn't mean our scouts would have taken them over one of the flops...

Praising Dubas for the Mrazek dump is like high fiving someone for getting a discount from the tow truck driver for hauling off the broken down junker he bought from the scrap yard.

According to a DPVC the 25th = 38th + 43rd

The cost in dumping Mrazek comes in the difference between picks. Another early second rounder. But there are other hidden costs.

The opportunity cost that came from signing Mrazek in the first place.

Mrazek sucked up a roster spot and $3.8M in cap space. Resources that could have been used elsewhere. In a record breaking season for this franchise.

One that witnessed the team fail to meet playoff expectations once again.

At the end of the day Dubas paid a price to get out from Mrazek's contract. Wasting even more valuable resources. In what was supposed to have been a contention year.

Praising this is like bragging about stepping in shit and wiping it off with more shit.

You’re not wrong, but he mad a mistake and was able to rectify it quite quickly, at a minimal
cost. Can’t expect a young GM to get everything right the first time, as long as they learn from their (not so grave) mistakes.

Minten looks like a beauty so the move was definitely a positive in my eyes.

Mrazek was a bad signing and Dubas deserves criticism for it. But all GMs make mistakes and he wasn’t afraid to admit it and rectify the mistake for a reasonable price.
