I think it was Sarcastro who did a lot of leg work awhile back on drafting goalies and how often they become NHLers, etc. It's pretty much the most wasteful way to use a pick.

And Coreau was a free agent signing in 2013. I really like that we're using late round picks on goalies and not chasing them in the early rounds. There just isn't a return on the investment.

its not like a goalie in the first round has never worked out, but yeah I agree with you what a horrible pick and unless you got a pretty obvious top 5 talent and the pick in kind its best to pass on goalies in the first

He could probably set a record for most years spent with one team geez. Former F=first round pick who has been in the same AHL team almost a decade now. How rare is that?

He hasn't been with the Grifs the whole time. He had a good run & playoffs with the Charlotte Checkers last year
