im actually chuckling right now. Who knew players can force a rebuild, glad they did tho
That’s how I’m seeing it. We know Conroy wanted to get younger. These guys don’t.All this news to me just points towards an organizational shift. Conroy isn't willing to pay these guys what they want or think they are worth, and that's perfectly fine with me.
The writing is on the wall here. Sell off all these guys for assets to kick-start a rebuild.Everyone getting off the bus in Calgary. Forced rebuild.

Might be better to move on now. Sure deadline you can get some stupid prices, but heaven forbid there is an injury to the guy and you can't move him.Hold onto him until the deadline.
I mean this the year to trade.Conroy said he wanted youth and a retool. It’s good they are selling 4 players, with the lack of UFA a lot of teams will be calling Calgary this off season.
Sorta could be Florida's or Calgary depending on season in 24/25/26.Doesn't Montreal have Calgary's 1st round pick next year from the Monahan deal?
For 2024, the Flames pick is top 19 protected. Habs option to take it if it's 20 to 32.Doesn't Montreal have Calgary's 1st round pick next year from the Monahan deal?
Only if its 20-32, and theres no way its gonna be that. Mtl also have the choice to defer it to next yr anywayDoesn't Montreal have Calgary's 1st round pick next year from the Monahan deal?
These deals are actually a blessing in a way because they allow the Flames to be aggressive in trading these pending UFAs for futures, without having to worry about the floor. Plus, they give potential young players some vets to play with.Yeah. Now is year #1 of Huberdeau and Weegar monster deals. Not ideal.
in 2025, yeah. It's the 2024 1st if it's 20-32, but protected in the absolute stupidest way possible when the Flames will be Markstrom, Huberdeau, Kadri, and a bunch of AHLersDoesn't Montreal have Calgary's 1st round pick next year from the Monahan deal?
It is true. If you are a bottom dweller for 4-5 years it doesnt really matter to have some albatross contractsThese deals are actually a blessing in a way because they allow the Flames to be aggressive in trading these pending UFAs for futures, without having to worry about the floor. Hard to trust a guy who was running shotgun while Treliving destroyed your team.I am starting to think the players dont trust Conroy
in 2025, yeah. It's the 2024 1st if it's 20-32, but completely unprotected in 2025, when the Flames will be Markstrom, Huberdeau, Kadri, and a bunch of AHLers
Hard to trust a guy who was running shotgun while Treliving destroyed your team.
Also hard to trust a guy who said "we're 100% going to get Gaudreau signed"
what will they do with the Kadri, Uber doo and Markstrom contracts lol. Once those guys care even less and degrade even more, their cap hit would be a huge burden on the Flames, especially Huberdeau. I see a buyout for one or two of them down the roadThe writing is on the wall here. Sell off all these guys for assets to kick-start a rebuild.
