Haha I knew it was going to be one of these games.

I watched this team possess the puck a lot tonight and generate absolutely nothing other than Jagr's breakaway. More and more perimeter garbage, cycle, cycle, cycle, then pass to the point for a shot into shin pads or wide. Absolutely nothing runs through the middle of the ice with the game Pete plays. I feel like I'm watching Nascar stuck on the track and along the wall the whole game and we're forbidden to go into the infield. Horrid breakouts without a hint of speed to gain the zone, all we do is dump and chase.

Of course having a bunch of old slow turds doesn't help but something fundamentally has to change with this system or at least adapt a little bit. This grinding and cycling is somewhat easy to defend and creates nothing most of the time while wearing ourselves out and killing the clock at the same time lol.

Yup. That's why I say this system keeps us out of games as much as it keeps us in games.

Wearing themselves out with the insanity that is the forechecking, with nothing to show for it most of the time.

Whatever. Another typical Devils performance. Don't show up for 40 minutes then try to light the world on fire in some 20 minute stretch.

This is on Pete and his system. You HAVE to attack the slot.

We look like molasses against the Rangers. We need to get faster

Look at the bright side. We didn't blow a lead tonight:laugh:

Can Bernier GTFO and go back to where he belongs in the press box for tomorrow night? I know the season is over, but I NEVER wanna see this floating and soft piece of garbage play for the Devils ever again. He got knocked off the puck so easily tonight. The wind could have blown him over.

Bernier is AHL material at this point.

Merrill needs to get in the gym and work on his skating. He gets pushed around a lot and falls quite a bit

You know, I was wondering why watching my home team Medvescak (built from almost solely NA players) playing in KHL league for the first time felt so ****ing familiar ... Forechecking all night long, big ice, small ice - almost without changes. Whenever they lost, regardless of the score, you'd somehow feel they were right in there, just haven't had puck luck that time. Even though reality check would tell you - they wouldn't have scored even if game went on for seven periods

Christ. Forechecking to the death ...

According to Sports Club Stats, Devils chance of making it to the playoffs is 10.3%. :shakehead

That is actually better than I thought it would be. I mean given our schedule a miracle win streak is possibl. Highly unlikely but 10% I think is actually pretty good.

What were the Devils odds of landing Larsson again?

If they reach that point, we have a chance!

The Devils used up all the credit they had at the bank of luck between winning the draft lottery that year and their run to the Final. It's been nothing but bad luck ever since.

jagr mad.

http://www.nj.com/devils/index.ssf/...ose_to_bursting_we_did_this_to_ourselves.html

Jagr’s done his part and more. He’s 42 and leads the Devils with 60 points.

Jagr was asked if he still thinks his team should be a playoff team. Several times he answered the same question earlier in the season with a positive response. Not this time.

“I don’t look around,” he said. “It’s not my job. My job is to do the best I can for the team. I try to give my 100 percent every night, no matter who is next to me or behind me.”

----

I wonder if Jagr is upset about his left wing and possibly being on the ice with salvador all the time

Hello family. Today we lost an important match against Rangers a playoff us away. Angry sit down to the computer, look at FB and I had to laugh. Some joker sent me a video wrote: ..... They meet two hockey fans and read the newspaper - so imagine that the Jagr wanted to shoot from unrequited love - Shut up! And what happened? .. - As usual-he missed ....... :)))))) ...... funny, sad but true

That is why i love Jagr. Even after a horrible, soul crushing lost, you gotta find something pleasant in life. It's just a game. Jagr probably took the loss the hardest, but he was able to joke about it once he sat down after the game.

Whatever. Welcome to mediocrity. We had a good run. Now we'll know how it feels to be like most of the other teams in the league.

Boston, Chicago, Pittsburgh. These teams were straight up dog **** for many years too. It happens. Time to lower the bar and the expectations. We've had some poor luck with some of our picks and a lot of talent has went to play elsewhere. This is the result of that. It is what it is.

As a Rangers fan I agree with this having been there. It can be summed up as follows: franchise gets off to a rocky start as one would expect, 82-88ish. I was at the first franchise game in history. Team becomes respected and competitive, 88-94ish. For the next 15 years is consistently one of the best teams in the league. It was a fantastic run and now it's going to be a battle. Assuming all the posters here are die hard fans, the good part is that you shed all those bandwagon a-holes and get down to a suffering core until the next rise.

Jagr might end with 70+ points. Amazing!

Same. Figured it to be much lower.

But I don't come away from last nights game feeling terribly. Sure Rangers dominated the 2nd period, but I thought the 1st was tightly contested and we controlled the 3rd. Just couldn't jam any in. Thought overall the effort was good and the game was entertaining.

Have to win tonight. I think we have reached true must win territory.

blood, it's over.

The rags game yesterday was "true must win territory".

Need to start focusing on the Draft and next year.
