I have put together a list of Oilers-related video reviews and coach's challenges. The Situation Room's website didn't start posting reviews or challenges until January 23, 2016, so I may be missing some. Any before that date were added by myself based on what I could find on YouTube or from memory. If you know of any not listed please post and I will add them.

White = regular NHL review (kicking motions, high sticks, etc.)
Grey = NHL-initiated coach's challenge (final minute + OT)
Orange = Edmonton coach's challenge
Blue = Opposition coach's challenge

That's an amazing amount of work and is very appreciated. It's good to have the facts instead of just having to go by memory. It feels like the Oilers have lost every ruling going back to the dawn of time. It's not quite that bad obviously... but it's bad and very one-sided.

Ugly ugly stats. The most glaring was the brutal call in the playoffs. The NHL's incomptence cost the Oilers a ticket to the conference finals last year. Also took a heavy chunk out of our year this year, although we had enough not going our way to cement our fate as is.

Penalty calls for and against would be a nice companion graph to go with this one.

Something odd seems to have happened early last season. That’s when the odds really started to stack against us. They probably weren’t that great before then but they have become a statistical anomaly after that. I can’t imagine any other teams could have a worse challenge record than we do. I might be able to shrug it off if it was just Oiler induced challenges. If you weren’t watching the games and only looking at the stats you could say the coach was just making poor challenges. The fact the number is also really bad against us this year when other teams initiate the challenges is what is alarming. Hard to look at those numbers and not come to a conclusion there is an officiating and league bias against us.

It’s bad, but a lot of it to me looks like Todd McLellen doesn’t know how or even when to issue a challenge and other teams do. Like the terrible special teams it reflects how inept the coaching staff is. As well as bad luck.

It still doesn’t really convince me there is some conspiracy or bias against the oilers though tbh. It’s still a small enough sample size that we could just be unlucky.

It’s important to remember that more often than not these calls have had an objective right answer. There is only a handful that are really debatable. It’s not like it’s a true 50/50. Personally I haven’t felt any of the wrong calls have been made in the most recent challenges.

tbh they've probably already made a deal with Nicholson. This season is just straight out of bizarro world. Oilers suck AND all the calls against us and not a peep of anger (or any emotion really) from anyone in the organization. Why? Because this is the deal they've made. Endure one more season of garbage, and we'll give you Dahlin as a gift.

if that actually does happen then I'll like the heads of the league again.

But it just doesn't make sense to me. It's like the conspiracy that McDavid to the Oilers was pre-determined. Why give McDavid to Edmonton? Why give Dahlin to Edmonton? We're a smaller market team based in northern Alberta. I'd sooner believe that McDavid to the Oilers was just dumb luck, and that maybe there is a conspiracy against the Oiler, represented by this data, but it's because we do not NEED the wins as much as some other franchises do, such as Arizona and Vegas. And Colorado and Jersey

There has not been a coach's challenge by the Oilers or their opponents yet this season.

McLellan challenged 22 plays as the Oilers coach, winning just four. His last successful challenge was on December 31, 2016.
