Kings win, have Yotes, Ducks, Avs, Wild and Stars, all but the Ducks are home games. Avs is a big one, as that's who it's looking like they will need to beat out for that final spot unless they go on a tear to finish the season.

The teams LA needs to keep an eye on are Anaheim (as they keep knocking each other off the 3rd spot in the division), Colorado, St. Louis, and Minnesota as they're all teams that can end up in the Wild Card instead of LA. Even Dallas can go on a bit of a run to end the season and have an impact ont LA's fate.

With the blues being so hot I figured they are in.

Ducks have been doing well enough so I could see them getting in, LA has a higher ROW by a good bit.

Wild should be in.

Stars are toast, they are 6 pts out, that's almost impossible with 6 games left and only 1 win in their last 10. Stick a fork in them.

Avs also have been doing well enough so this is going to be a close race. So if LA can beat the Avs, they should be in good shape.

Yea, LA's ROW is their advantage over Anaheim specifically. If Ducks lose tonight to Canucks (probably won't) in regulation, LA steps into the 3rd place of the division. That 3rd spot in Pacific and the Wild Card spots changes daily.

I hope Sharks beat Blues tonight because Sharks are already too ahead of LA that I don't care if Kings catch them or not. I would much prefer Blues are kept below LA in the standings right now.

LA was sitting on the top Wild Card spot. Blues beat Sharks, so LA is knocked down to 2nd Wild Card spot. Should Ducks lose to Canucks, LA goes back to 3rd in the Pacific. All this movement and LA didn't have a game tonight. That's how tight it is for them.

Happy the Canucks beat Anaheim in regulation. This helps Habs two-fold. Canucks move 3 points behind Habs in the general standings. But also with the regulation loss, Ducks don't pick up any points and so LA moves back to the 3rd spot in the Pacific Division.

Remaining games for LA:

Thursday vs. Arizona
Friday @ Anaheim (Must win in regulation)
Monday vs. Colorado (Must win in ragulation)
Next Thursday vs. Minnesota (Must win as the Wild may end up in a Wild Card battle with LA)
Next Saturday vs. Dallas (final game of the season)

LA should make it looking at their schedule
I have a funny feeling that the Avs will lose out in this race and miss the playoffs

The Avs making the play-offs would be insufferable.

Bergevin would ride that ****ing meme all press conference long.

And based on the fact that our journalists suck...they will eat it all press conference long.

Oh yeah..

"Bien Marc, do you think Drouin will hit his stride next season and lead the team like MacKinnon did this year?"

They'll stroke his..... ego and delusions all conference long.

And the funny part is that if they don't make it, by 1 or 2 points, Bergevin will still use that without being challenged. ''Well look at the Avs, they didn't make it, but they came real close''. Obviously forgetting that HIS point when he kept saying how this or that team didn't make it before and then they are at the top is that they were damn close themselves....But that, nbody will talk about it.

Journalists have no excuses. They have all the time to prepare themselves. We know for a while that we are out of it. WE know Bergevin's excuses. We know where he is headed ahead of time as he said it 1 week ago. We know all that. And yet...look at how bad this will be.

Tonight is a big game for LA. They're playing the Ducks.

Possible outcomes:

- LA wins in regulation: they move 4 points up on Ducks, though Anaheim will have a game in hand.

- LA wins in OT/SO: It would still keep them ahead of LA, but only 3 points up on Ducks.

- Ducks win in regulation: they tie LA in points and knock them off the 3rd spot of the division because of that game in hand. In such a case, LA's fate lies in the hands of the Blues. If Blues win, LA moves to the 2nd Wild Card spot. If Blues lose, LA will be in the 1st Wild Card spot.

- Ducks win in OT/SO: LA remains in the 3rd spot of the division, but only 1 point up on ANA, who as mentioned, will still have a game in hand.

Through all of this, Kings do hold the advantage on ROW's no matter what. Ducks are now at 35 ROW and Kings at 41. Ducks have 5 games left so even if they win them all in regulation or OT, they will reach 40 ROW.

At this moment, LA holds the advantage. But they are not out of the woods just yet.

LA needs to win against COL (who have an upcoming back-to-back against both ANA and LAK). With that win, I'm pretty confident they make it in. The best option would be that COL wins ANA in regulation, and then loses to LA in regulation.

It's sad that this is what our scoreboarding watching at season end has come to

Good job breaking it down.

Ducks win in OT, 2-1. Now we'll have shift our scoreboard watching to Anaheim -- they play Colorado on Monday.

Shit Ducks win vs LA in OT.

Ducks+STL+Avs can still down our pick if they work together.

Ducks need 2 more points than LA with 1 game in hand.
Blues need 3 more points than LA with 2 games in hand.
Avs need 3 more points than LA with 1 game in hand.

LA
Game vs Avs is a must win
Min and Dallas could be must win or OT depending on other teams

Ducks
Need to lose vs Avs in reg.
Min and Dallas pref be losses. Arizona might be a given 2 points.

Blues
prob win vs Ari
then 1 game vs caps, 2 vs chi and 1 vs Avs.

Avs
Play Ducks, LA, SJ and STL. Highest possibility of being buttf***ers.
