Hughes should win it. The only argument Makar has is 21 goals and a better PPG (1.17 vs 1.12) but he doesn't look as impactful on the ice as he usually does. Something is holding his skating back.

NHL.com writers were 14/15 first place votes for Hughes, one for Josi.

Panarin's 20% CorsiRel is insane, and the among the difference makers in my opinion. ...
With an offensive zone start % of 85.1 (per hockey-reference, all situations) his CF%Rel should be insane. Similarly, at even strength is CF%Rel is 11.0 which is excellent but not surprising given his 79.3% OZS%.

It’s Hughes for sure.

Makar has been far too uneven (I do think this is going to be fairly representative of a Makar “down year” which is still pretty impressive).

I think Josi came on a bit too late but he’s definitely second. This guy is aging so well…I mean it’s like he’s not even aging.

Fox missed a few too many games and I just think Hughes has been even more impactful for this team…which is saying more about Quinn than anything about Fox who always is impressive and in the center of the Rangers’ team success.

Quinn’s gonna be taking home the trophy, this one is easy.
